Frequently Asked Questions

What are you doing to prevent the spread of COVID-19?

  • The boat will be wiped down extensively with sanitizing wipes between tours.
  • Guests will confirm they have not had any symptoms or have been exposed to anyone that has tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 14 days.

How long is a Standard Tour?

Each standard tour is 2 hours long.

Are all cruises BYOB?

Yes! Riders who are of age are welcome to bring beer, wine or hard seltzer (no hard alcohol > 20% ABV) to enjoy on their Tiki Taxi ride! Of course non-alcoholic beverages are okay too! We have ice, water coolers and cup holders on board to make sure you always have a cold drink on hand. This should go without saying, but we’re going to say it anyway: you must be 21 or older (and have the ID to prove it) if you plan on drinking adult beverages on the Tiki Taxi. Please keep in mind that open containers are only allowed on board the boat and cannot be taken back onto the dock.

Do we need a reservation?

Yes. At this time we are not accepting walk on guests.

Where do We Meet For Our Tiki Taxi Experience?

Private Tour Default - Liberty Harbor Marina (15 Marin Boulevard, Jersey City, NJ)

Public Tour Default - Skyport Marina (E23rd st Manhattan).

Do You Make Any Stops?

No, we have a bathroom onboard for emergencies but we request that you go beforehand.

How Many Passengers Can Fit On The Tiki Taxi?

45 (for public cruises we limit the boat to 40 passengers).

Can I put down a deposit to hold a reservation slot and pay in full later?

Unfortunately at this time we only hold reservation slots that are paid in full. We would recommend booking in advance to secure your slot and then cancelling before a penalty would be imposed if necessary.  We also realize that booking a full boat can be expensive for one person and encourage the person booking to recoup funds from other participants ASAP via cash sending apps.

What Is Your Cancellation Policy?

Our standard cancellation policy is as follows: Full boat - Cancellations must be made at least 30 days prior to the tour for a refund. Cancellations made more than 7 days prior to your tour, but less than 30 days in advance, will receive a voucher for a future tour. Any cancellations made within 7 days of your tour or no shows will NOT be entitled to a refund. Individual Tickets - Cancellations must be made at least 10 days prior to the tour for a refund. Cancellations made more than 3 days (72 hours) prior to the tour, but less than 10 days in advance, will receive a credit for a future tour. Any cancellations made within 72 hours of your tour or no shows will NOT be entitled to a refund.

Can I Tip the Captain and Deckhand?

Our boat captains and deckhands work very hard to ensure you have the best possible experience. Our prices are not inclusive of gratuity. If our crew shows you a good time and you’re feeling tipsy, please show them you are happy with their service! No cash? No problem, our crew has their own Venmo account!

What if I am late the day of my boat Ride?

We strongly recommend planning to arrive at least 15 minutes early for your Tiki Taxi ride. For a public tour the boat will leave on time (without you). If you have booked the full boat, we will wait to leave but it will shorten your tour because we have a daily schedule to keep.

Is parking available?

Yes! There is a large parking lot. $10 to park and free if you attend the onsite bar Surf City at some point during your stay.
